Darla’s Grinders

Cherry, maple, walnut, ceramic grinder
I was trying to make the tallest grinders I could with this set. But then what do you do for the shape? Making a nice curve that long is not as easy as it would seem. But the results are rather nice. I used a maple inlay for the salt grinder and a walnut inlay for the pepper grinder.

Pearl’s Grinders

Purple heart, silver, ceramic grinder
I didn’t have turning blanks as long as I did for Darla’s Grinders, but I really liked the shape so I decided to try it on a smaller scale. It looks heavier, but still has a nice feel to it. To distinguish the pepper grinder from the salt grinder, I inlayed two bands of silver wire around the joint between the top and the bottom of the grinder.
