Eagle in the Grass
13 1/2″ x 9″ x 8″
Mountain juniper
This sculpture is what resulted when I started carving a piece of mountain juniper that was found in a slash pile in west Texas. All the basic shapes were already there, I just refined them a bit. For some reason, the shapes that resulted from my work have always made me think of leaves or grass, or strangely enough, lilies. However, from a certain angle you can also see an eagle.
